Support Services for care managers

Support services we have helped Care Managers/ companies with;

Managing a health and social care service is one of the most demanding job roles to have, If you haven’t worked in the health or social care sector it is hard to appreciate the long hours, commitment, personal attachment, and day to day challenges that are involved.

As a Care Manager or owner you are the experts. you know your business, staff, clients, CQC compliance and procedures for working inside out. Unfortunately no two days in care are ever the same, you may be faced with daily challenges that need your attention and prioritising,  sometimes this may lead to  other important tasks being put to one side

We support Care Managers in their roles, catch up with outstanding jobs and take pressure off you.

We can work alongside you to support you with tasks such as PIR documentation, applying for tenders, preparing for inspections, writing policies, auditing MAR charts, updating staff supervisions, client reviews, working alongside staff and any day to day support you may need to make your role more easier.

Here are some examples of support we have already provided to care organisations

  • A new domiciliary firm wanted help writing policies so they could become registered with CQC. We created several new ones including a STOMP policy, training policy and a business continuity policy.
  • A domiciliary care company wanted their new medication policy to be cascaded on to the care staff. We created and delivered a course to pass on all the new procedures they would have to follow.
  • A domiciliary care company wanted some support for an existing member of staff who had been promoted to a manager. We worked with her on a day-to-day basis to support and guide her with legislations, responsibilities, CQC accreditation etc.
  • A senior carer was undertaking his NVQ level 3 but was struggling to understand the questions and jargon. We re-wrote the questions for him so that they were easy to understand. We worked a lot on getting verbal answers from him and then showed him how to put these into words.
  • A senior carer at a care home asked for help to prepare for a job interview as a manager. We updated her C.V and practiced interview questions and techniques. This was filmed so she could watch it back and see how her body language presented.
  • A new manager had received their first PIR form from CQC, we worked on the answers with him to ensure it was a true representation of his company.
  • A domiciliary care company wanted support with their staff supervisions so asked us to help them by undertaking observations with staff. We worked with the carers by visiting clients together and delivered personal care to gain evidence needed.
  • A Health and Social Care degree student wanted some support with her essays and dissertation. We were able to advise her on the structure, Harvard referencing system, punctuation, and proof -read the work for her.

  • A newly ‘Nominated individual’ wanted some support to understand his job role and expectations for CQC. We created & delivered a bespoke training course to outline his responsibilities and explored the CQC’s key lines of enquiry to familiarise him with a registration and inspection process

  • A domiciliary care company wanted us to audit and update their policies for them, to ensure they met currently legislation and practices. We reviewed, updated and signed to state what changes we had made so it was easy to identify when updates had occurred.

  • Worked alongside carers, as part of the tram, when organisations have been short staffed, We can provide all certificates and up to date online DBS certificates to verify  the necessary skill sets needed to support a variety of individuals.
